Journey through Time

by Gerard Muller

“Those who aren’t aware of their history, cannot shape their future”.

We invite you to take part in the Journey through time, which is a group method developed by Gerard Muller. This method –similar to a ritual- will help us to evoke all the important milestones of the history of organizational development, and to decide what to bring with us into the future. During the Journey we will look at key events in the history of organizations and organizational development, doing so in teams led by a guide, and move through three different periods where we’ll see the key developments and innovations, key concepts and books in our profession, but also what happened in the society around us: key events, trends, music, .......

There will be three different arranged rooms, full with the important symbols and tokens of the periods helping us to evoke memories, just like on an exciting interactive exhibition.

In each period we will discuss within teams, what the key things were we developed as a profession, what the key things were to leave behind and to develop to be able to be successful in the next period.

So the purpose is to follow the timeline from the organizational development’s point of view, looking through also all the events and important milestones happening in the world, and based on this review deciding how to enter the future.
