14.00–16.00 Ice breaking,„nest-building”
We have arrived from different corners of the world, most probably in different moods.
We would like to create a suitable mood and a relaxed atmosphere with colourful
opportunities. Feel free to choose from four options and charge your batteries by meditation,
by using your creativity, by a massage, or by a variety of playful activities.
16.30–22.00 Opening ceremony
The objective of the Opening Ceremony – a flow of
events designed to build community – is a journey to
find the common roots of the ODWS community and
to create our collective consciousness. We will use
nature's four elements for this purpose. The Opening
Ceremony of the Summit is similar to that of a prologue
of a book, it is definitely a not to be missed opportunity to get ready for the
Summit. In this timeframe expect lots of fun like wondering around together in he city,
a short informal opening, dinner and a scenic boat trip on the Danube and other surprises.
The program ends in the Ballroom of the hotel with a special jam session.

19.30 Embracing Music – A Special Community Building Event
An evening dedicated to music - listen (and dance if you wish) to the music of two very
different but equally fantastic bands:
Parafonia Band
The 'Music for Everyone' Association was founded in 1997 with the aim of teaching
music to mentally disabled children, who not only can't read the conventional five-stave
sheet music but many times have a hard time even to learn reading and writing. The
'Parafonia' band consists of the most talented members of the Association. They learned
to play music together with the help of a special method and special instruments. They
perform more and more often at festivals and conferences as well as in churches, theatres,
schools, etc. with growing success. They mostly play classical music specifically
adapted to their purposes. The band is supported by young educators and enthusiastic
parents. The director is music teacher Réka Fabényi. For more information, please go to
www.parafonia.hu
Hot Jazz Band
The Hot Jazz Band is inspired by the melodies of the 1920s, '30s and '40s, and popular
music from the world of Hungarian film before World War II. Their music takes us back
to the wonderful world of the Jazz Age and recalls famous Hungarian movie stars of the
period: Katalin Karády, Pál Kalmár, Kálmán Latabár, Gyula Kabos; world-famous
American artists such as Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman or Bing Crosby; and composers
like Rezso˝ Seress, Mihály Eisemann, Szabolcs Fényes, Alfréd Márkus, George
Gershwin, Duke Ellington and many others.
The band has won four international and two Hungarian awards at various competitions.
The most outstanding is, perhaps, the New Orleans Jazz Competition (France,
1995) where they turned out to be the best of 54 bands. They have been invited six times
to participate in the Sacramento Jubilee (CA, USA), the world's largest annual traditional
jazz festival. They have won two eMeRTon prizes, the award of the Hungarian Radio,
the Líra award and the Louis Armstrong Memorial prize in Hungary.
Snack dinner will be served after the concert of the Parafonia band.
